just some personal pointers. [September 13, 2009] wow, haven't been writing here for quite sometime already. the recent army open house really wore me down, but fortunately for the long week break which saw a very successful post open house celebration at mambo and few gathering with my good friends. And did i mentioned i didn't run army half marathon? How ironic that i put in so much effort  in gearing myself up for the event but end up falling sick the night before. who knows, i could have ran under 2hour 15 mins and get myself 2 freaking days off. Sigh. now that army half marathon and army open house is over. i can focus more on turn-ops exercise (as a company) and the ps course which i still have no info regarding.  another 4 months and 26 days before i ord, so press on joel!   1/ read reply

[April 25, 2009] the past 2 weeks had been the busiest time ever. running around camp training, doing stores, screaming and shouting at the boys. i can't wait for the course to end so i can finally take a breather. my energy level is running at such a high low that i might just collapse any moment.   reply

army [April 10, 2009] milestones must be marked. So today calls for an celebration - officially survived one year of national service. which also means  only 10 more months of  being  a obligatory yes-sir man. i was flipping through my photos and i found this frontal view of myself during last last year's xmas at vk's place. joel potter and the mess bell [November 28, 2008]   hello everyone. i am not joel deng chong. i am joel potter deng cedric chong. i am a manly brave macho soldier who fought lord mess belldermort. as many already know, i won the battle but i have to live with a horrible lightling ugly tick look alike scar for the rest of my life. ahhhhh. enough of that crappy story. had mess initiation yesterday and was forced to drink a lot. was so high on alcohol that i rang the mess bell so bloody hard which caused it to fall out of place and hit my left eye brow. evetually got sent to ttsh to get 4 stiches. how lucky is that! tsk tsk then i started dialling everyone last night for no reason. wini, pat, sm and my sisters. i even spoke to my rsm ( sergeant major) in a jokingly rude manner. got the whole hq busy with incident report  (my apologies!) lessons learnt: i'm not a good drinker ( but considering the amount of beer i drank last night i think i did quite well just a bit unlucky) i should not ring any bell next time. i must not get drunk anymore unless fiona xie breaks up with me. ouch. my scar is hurting!!! i  ...  can ...  see the bell ... it's ... ringing ... the ringing is .. it's getting louder... ahhhh ... 3/ read reply

sway [November 16, 2008] first birdshit landed on my shoulder. then my ass hurts. now i have ulcer growing in my throat. what have i done to deserve all these? maybe i bitched too much eh. after 6 months in ns, i finally passed out as a 3rd sergeant. dont really know what to expect from a unit life, the only thing i know is probably more duties and responsibilities in exchange for more freedom. it's ok, life in ns has been good so far and i hope it will stay the same for the next 1 year 3-4 months before i ord. ORD!!!!!!!!! while i sought hard towards my ord date, girls, please work hard for exams in uni ! and those whining about attachment like how sm did, please endure and it will all be over in no time! so man. hahahahahahahahaha. i'm kidding ok. 1/ read reply
